Not an new idea—called ‘Managed Services’

My Dirt Cheap is in a startup position with the knowledge and tools to provide a basic set of services to wide area of computer users.  More expensive service offerings, termed ‘Managed Services’, are being offered locally to monitor PC’s with a host of many additional services  at prices starting from $50 to $5,000 a month.  Managed Services is proposed for many businesses and certainly will be the service model of the future.  What about “the rest of the world”?  They don’t need 24/7/365 monitoring, nor many of the other offered services.

Anything for us?

The situation becomes, for “the rest of the world (or us)” too expensive for single or even a couple of computers.  But in reality we are the majority of the computer users in the country, and if we all collectively use this service, it can become quite economical.   In fact, by joining together and combine our purchasing power we can buy anything “DIRT CHEAP’.  Make sense?  Actually more than cents, it can equate to some significant dollars; could maybe even run a Walmart-like out of business.

Can it be dirt cheap?

myDirtCheap.com offers to inspect your system remotely, once a month for a whole year for $29.95 relates to $2.50 per inspection .  A report to the subscriber is returned that recommends what is needed (if repairs are required) to bring the system to its peak operational performance.  Also monitoring the error logs to determine if a hardware problem is developing.  myDirtCheap.com service will recommend FREE software programs to enhance and repair many service needs for the subscriber’s system that can be internet downloaded, yes FREE!!  And also offer other software at dirt cheap prices.

How it works

Once a month myDirtCheap.com will send subscriber an email with an attached program, called an ‘agent’.  The subscriber will then need to run (execute) it on their PC.   This agent is sent with the subscriber executing it, so the company has no need to acquire your administrator password, etc. or to have any control over your PC.  The agent will just sniff the subscriber’s computer health (vital signs) and send the information back to myDirtCheap.com’s servers for evaluation.  If, and understand, only if, a problem is detected a report is emailed back to the subscriber.  Once executed the agent does not remain on the subscriber’s PC.

This program also includes the subscriber on the return results as a carbon copy (CC:) so they can verify that no personal or any other information from their PC has ever been taken by myDirtCheap.com.
